Hello,

If you are looking for a good, low-profile solution that would feature a fast, high resolution, easy to view Internet video, I would recommend the Aver 1304NET DVR coupled with either KG-190SWB Pro-Grade B&W cameras or KG-602IR Color IR cameras.

For example, a complete system featuring the Aver 1304NET DVR, (4) KG-602IR color IR cameras, plug and play siamese cable & power supplies would be $1050 via Cctvwholesalers.com. Here's a link:
http://www.cctvwholesalers.com/product.php?productid=16828&cat=279&page=1

How this system would excel for a home daycare surveillance application:

The Aver 1304NET records at full D1 (720*480), larger-than-full screen resolution, where as most other DVRs in this price range only record at 720*240 or 320x240 resolution. The 1304NET allows for simultaneous recording and viewing of the video. You can record on and off site simultaneously. It works with either static or dynamic IP addresses. And... you do not need to walk around with software in your back pocket, as the 1304NET will deliver the application to the PC, cell phone, or PDA you wish to view from (and self install in many cases).

Regarding the cameras... B&W is all thats necessary in these types of applications, so, the KG-190SWB would help save them some money. If color or zero light is a must, then the KG-602IR would be the better pick.

Not always the case; though IP cameras can be viewed online from anywhere, they typically don't record by themselves, meaning you'll also have to invest in an NVR or NVR\DVR recorder (which will typically run you an extra thousand or so dollars). Additionally, since virtually all DVRs you can find on the market are internet accessible, you can use analog cameras with an IP addressable DVR and have web viewing capability with recording built right in.

I'm not saying IP cameras are bad by any stretch, I'm just saying that they're not necessarily the best option.
