blagarde Hello,

CCTV equipment can be purchased either online, or you may have a local dealer nearly. CCTV equipment purchased online is typically sold at a discounted rate, compared to local retailers.

When purchasing online, be sure that the web site clearly identifies the businesses direct phone number, fax line, and actual address (not a PO box). Next, go to www.bbb.org to view their reliability record, and also do a "Whois" search via http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp and see how long they have REALLY been in business and where the business is located.

Be very careful if the company either has a poor record at bbb.org, or no record at all. Run their address via http://maps.google.com and see if the business is located in a commercial structure... or residential structure. For example, here is a link to our location on Google. Click on Satellite view and you will see that we are in a high industrial area.

Be sure to call the online merchant. More than one person should be available to answer the phone, and you should be able to get the extension # of the rep you spoke to. Did they ask you questions... or where they able to answer questions you asked them? Ask how tech support is given, and where from.

When selecting cameras, we only like cameras featuring Sony CCDs. Simply... they do much better in adverse lighting conditions than other brands. Make sure that the DVRs are able to record in 640x480 resolution or higher.

When purchasing locally, check to see how long they were in business for, and again check them via bbb.org.

If you have any questions about a quote someone gave you, feel free to fax it to us at 504-736-9175 and we will give you an honest opinion.... FREE!
My Gifts How do I find a good CCTV company? I've bought junk in the past, and do not want to make the same mistake again.
