Holiday Season Cameras PDF Print E-mail

Now that we're well into the Holiday season, it can be very easy to put residential surveillance projects on hold until aft er the first of the year since most money is tied up in gifts, trips, and decorations. With all of those to take care of, camera systems usually end up on the back burner. Ironically, though, there are several reasons why now can be one of the best times to consider adding a surveillance system to your home:

-Since fewer residential clients are purchasing systems, sales reps are usually more available and there's also usually less of a lead time for installation. This means the time investment of the project, from the first quote to actually having the cameras up and running, can be much shorter.

-Decorations around the yard can provide tempting targets for vandalism, but having cameras up watching the decorated areas provides peace of mind: if something does happen, you'll have footage to make a police report with.

-If you plan on taking any family trips, having a DVR that would allow you to view your cameras online would allow you to keep a watchful eye over your home from anywhere.

If you're considering a residential surveillance system now or after the holidays, you can also check out our article on residential surveillance systems for tips on how to design a system and what to look for in a company when shopping around.

Oh - and did I mention surveillance systems make fantastic gifts? :)

Happy holidays!
