it says...Maximum Recording Rate =Frame: 720 � 480 pixels with 30 IPS. and CIF: 352 � 240 pixels with 120 IPS... its a 4 channel dvr,thanks. Enter code here Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable

It really depends upon what you're doing. It's good to see that your DVR handles full 720 x 480, however with only (30 / 4 =) 7.5 fps per camera you may find that the video is a little choppy for some applications (IE, if you're outfitting a police station or something that needs extremely sensitive video monitoring).

For most applications, though, 7.5fps at 720 x 480 should be just fine.

It is hard to say without knowing your goals. As I mentioned in another thread there is a camera resolution calculator where you can calculate the resolution you need for detection, recognition and identification.
