Need a Good Animal Observation Camera 1 Year, 3 Months ago

We use the KG-190SWB Pro-Grade B&WBullet Camera in our lab to observe mice in an open field test, but found that the resolution wasn't so great, and the infrared sensitivity is problematic as the boxes also contain infrared lasers, further destroying the resolution. Does anyone have a suggestion on whats the best type of camera to use? should we just upgrade to a color which would hopefully get rid of the infrared problem, or would something else work better. Our setup has the cameras 2.5 feet above a 2' x 2' box and theres not much space so we need a small camera that still has a fairly wide angle picture and will not pick up the IR pollution. Thanks

We could definitely take you up to a higher resolution model of camera, however doing so would create issues with space (since higher resolution chips are typically larger, meaning the camera has to be bigger).
I would suggest you take a look at the 230CWB (http://www.cctvwholesalers.com/product.php?productid=16193&cat=306&page=1), which is color, the same resolution as your 190SWB (at 420 TVL) but has no IR sensitivity at all and is about the same size as your current camera. In other words, it'll be easier to tell what's going on (since you'll have color) and the IR beams shouldn't be an issue anymore.
