Superior Grill was founded in 1983 in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Known for their “Fabulous Mexican Dining” and their famous margaritas, the Superior Grill is a regional brand with six restaurants across Louisiana and Alabama.  With over 24 years in business, Superior Grill takes pride in their extensive and flavorful menu options and spirit of innovation that guides their company.  The Superior Grill New Orleans restaurant is located in the historic Garden District on St. Charles Avenue.

The Challenge
Due to the high volume of business and prominent location in the Garden District where off street parking is not usually an option, customer safety was of paramount concern to management.  Also of great concern were employee safety, productivity and theft.  Equally important to safety concerns was the need for management to easily view live and recorded video from other locations.  After experiencing several incidents where there was no visual documentation of the events, management elected to invest in a video surveillance system with remote video monitoring and digital recording abilities.

The Solution
Starting with their St. Charles Avenue location, Superior grill installed their first PC-Witness Pro DVR digital surveillance system some six years ago.  Cameras cover their kitchen, bar, registers and other key locations.  In addition to providing the added security and peace of mind that comes with a security system, McKinley Eastman of Superior Grill notes that the PC-Witness system has helped them to identify areas of lost profits and resolve fraudulent claims, thereby adding to their bottom line.  Superior Grill has discovered other benefits to their security system they were not expecting; including resolving employee and customer disputes, as well as observing the restaurant to know when a particular table needs service.  The most dramatic application involved the capture of a known thief through the use of their camera system.  Since their initial install, Superior Grill has added additional PC-Witness digital surveillance systems to other business locations, and have recently enhanced the coverage of their St. Charles Ave. system to accommodate their enormous growth.  McKinley long credits the PC-Witness System with cost saving benefits, “the cameras pay for themselves with the certain instances we've caught.”
