PC-Witness Hybrid NVR / DVR Demo PDF Print E-mail
Written by Bryan Lagarde

Since 1998, we've been advocating the use of digital CCTV video surveillance systems. For some time, very little has changed. Sure, features such as motion detection, picture quality, and remote video monitoring via the Internet became more powerful and easier to use... but it's been a long time since we've seen a true evolution of the DVR. ... Until recently.

It's called the PC-Witness Pro Hybrid NVR / DVR . You would think that any device offering up to 960fps (at full screen resolution!) and 20TB of video storage space would be unique enough! Well, the PC-Witness does not just stop there. Being a NVR / DVR Hybrid, the PC-Witness DVR can combine on-site analog CCTV cameras, off-site analog CCTV cameras (that are connected to another DVR), and IP video surveillance cameras all into a single environment.

The technology is referred to as “Meshed Technology.” The ability to take CCTV cameras, be they are on-site or off-site, analog or digital, and mesh them onto a single master system for viewing and recording purposes. But the PC-Witness just does not stop there, as once the cameras are meshed, the PC-Witness can then preform motion detection, suspicious object searches, graffiti alerts, count objects, set up virtual fences and much more.

What does this mean to you? Lets say you want to put a CCTV system on your business and your home, or that you have multiple business locations. It's time to buy a big screen TV because with the PC-Witness, you can put cameras into all your locations and view them on a single screen. Obviously perfect for video surveillance applications, it also becomes the marketer's dream being able to view the shopping habits of all store locations simultaneously. For managers, they can see who's late, who's working, who's deserving of a raise, and who is not.

Wondering how this works? I put together a short video tutorial on how to set up remote cameras on the PC-Witness Pro Hybrid just to show how easy it is. If you are interested in learning more about the PC-Witness, or to learn how affordable it really is, then visit www.cctvwholesalers.com or call 800.291.0523 (toll free) or 504.736.9187 (international/ New Orleans local).

my question is; we have multi-security camera hook up to old monitor and it records into VHS Tape. How can we change that into DVD or have it hook up to my laptop and control and record through this?

Thank you

Do IP cameras require more disk space for recording than analog cameras?
